Steel construction products have become very popular over the past few years there are a number of manufacturers making steel products for the construction industry and we’re going to primarily focus on products which are designed for internal buildings.
1. Stud and Track historically walls internally in offices or houses have been constructed with timber studs with plasterboard and installation inside. Some years ago steel studs were introduced they are far more economic, far more consistent in quality and are available in a number of links. Standard widths are 50 mm, 60 mm, 70 mm, 90 mm, 146 mm. Lengths generally start at 2400, 2700, 3000, 3600, 4200.
A standard stood and system can be fitted in a house or office to provide division of rooms which will then in turn provide sound insulation and privacy. 2.MF system a metal furring system is a structure or metal and plasterboard to create a ceiling was in a room above the ceiling can be placed insulation to provide sound ratings or fire ratings. An MF system is made up primarily of four steel components. MF5 is the main furring section, MF7 is the main support section, M F9 are the clips which join the MF5 and Mf7 together and the final item is the MF6 a perimeter trim. Once constructed you will in screw plasterboard into the face of the MF five and the ceiling is then ready for plastering or taping.
3.wall liner system if you are looking to renovate a wall or improve a wall a good way of doing this would be to use a wall liner system. This system is made up of three primary components GL1 which is the main wall liner section GL8 which is the main track section and then brackets fix the GL1 sections to the wall. After this plasterboard is screwed to steel support system and you can then plaster or joint of the desired finish. This system is particularly useful if the wall you are applying to our services behind or is somewhat uneven the brackets can be adjusted so that an uneven wall can be made into an even wall.
These three systems have risen to prominence over the past few years due to the ease of use and specifications that manufacturers have worked on. When looking to purchase any of these three systems it a good idea to work out the quantities required beforehand. Certain suppliers such as Distributor Ltd will work out the quantities for you including plasterboards, fixings, insulation and delivery. When you order your materials it can be quite a bulky delivery I would suggest that you picked a supplier who can deliver with a forklift off load or other type of delivery method. When picking a supply for your materials is best to speak to them on the phone as this will develop a rapport with them should any problems occur or should you require any further materials.
